Though renowned for the production of red wines made from the famous Piedmontese varieties of Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto, Azienda Agricola Giuseppe Cortese also makes a Langhe Bianco called Scapulin. It is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes sourced from the limestone and clay-rich soils of the Trifolera sub-zone. It is aged in a combination of stainless steel, clay amphorae and small French oak barrels (40% new) for 9 to 10 months, with an additional 6 months in bottle prior to release.
