Miani’s Enzo Pontoni is one of Italy’s premier cult winemakers. Working with just 13 hectares in the Colli Orientali DOC, yields are miniscule and total annual production is usually only around 9000 bottles. His wines are known for their fruit intensity and textural richness but are always impeccably balanced and surprisingly long-lived. Malvasia tends to be deeply coloured, relatively high in alcohol and has an intensely nutty character, sometimes with notes of orange peel and dried fruits.
