Established by the Moueix family in 1999, Château Hosanna is a relatively young wine label in Pomerol. The estate comprises just 4.5 hectares of vineyards, cultivated with Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The vines grow on a combination of red gravel soils layered with clay and some sand. The 2020 vintage of Hosanna stands out as one of the finest in the estate`s history. This full-bodied wine exhibits a supple and opulent character, revealing layers of ripe, sweet plums, cherries, blackberries, blueberries, and dark chocolate. Ripe tannins and refreshing acidity further enhance the complexity and balance of this remarkable release. Presented here in a magnum bottle.
The 2020 Hosanna has a spellbinding bouquet with beautifully-defined red berry fruit, incense and dried flower aromas, underlying graphite notes surfacing with modest aeration. There is real power and drive in these aromatics. The palate is medium-bodied with quite a strict opening. Finely-chiseled tannins, very focused, slightly earthy in style, this is endowed with a compelling sense of build towards the finish. This is a Hosanna with great breeding and predestined for long-term aging. - Neil Martin

Chateau Hosanna

Chateau Hosanna

The Hosanna estate in Pomerol dates back to the 16th century, when it was known as "Certan Giraud." However, it wasn't until the 1990s that the estate gained recognition for its outstanding wines, following a series of renovations and upgrades by its then-owners, the Moueix family. The vineyards of Château Hosanna cover approximately 4.5 hectares and are planted with predominantly Merlot, as well as smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc. The vines have an average age of 35 years and are grown using sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.

The winemaking at Château Hosanna is focused on producing wines which communicate the terroir of Pomerol - younger  wines are deep, with a rich flavour profile and elegant structure. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested and sorted, and the wine is aged in oak barrels for 18 to 22 months before bottling.
