Goutorbe-Bouillot Le Ru des Charmes Rosé is a Pinot Meunier-based rosé grower Champagne produced by Champagne Goutorbe-Bouillot in the village of Damery, just west of Epernay. Founded in 1911, the family-owned and run Champagne Goutorbe-Bouillot manages 8ha of vineyards across the Vallée de la Marne, with a focus on Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir grapes. Vineyards are managed organically (uncertified). In the cellar, Goutorbe-Bouillot works with a `perpetual reserve`, similar to the solera system used in Jerez, in order to impart greater complexity to its Champagnes. The Ru des Charmes Rosé NV is an assemblage of 60% Pinot Meunier, 20% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay, with a small amount of Pinot Meunier red wine blended into the base white wine. The wine spends 30 months ageing on lees before disgorgement. Dosage is set at 7g/l. Elegant with notes of white and red fruit, and a long, voluptuous finish.
