The Glen Scotia Distillery was founded in 1832 and it is one of the few distilleries remaining in Campbeltown, the smallest whisky region in Scotland. Double Cask Rum Finish whisky is an unusual and mouth-watering dram for those looking to explore different flavours. The special finish in Guyanese demerara rum barrels bestows an exotic and tropical character to the spirit.

Glen Scotia

One of the smallest single malt distilleries in Scotland, Glen Scotia was founded in Campbeltown, at the tail of the Kintyre peninsula, in 1832. Originally known simply as ‘Scotia Distillery, it is one of only three distilleries remaining in the town, which was considered by many the ‘whisky capital of the world’ until the collapse occasioned by US prohibition.

While over the years the process of making Glen Scotia whisky may have changed – with longer fermentation and vatting of the malted barley, as well as a slower, more precise distillation – the distillery retains much of its original spirit, and indeed equipment – the distillery’s fermenters, stillroom and dunnage warehouse all date from the 1830s.

Both peated and non-peated styles of Glen Scotia single malt are produced, the classic house style being relatively light and grassy, with hints of smoke and brine.
