Alta Mora Etna Rosso 2020 is a medium-bodied red wine produced from the Nerello Mascalese grape variety on the northern slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily. Alta Mora is a relatively new project established by the Cusumano family in 2013. The winemaking business is run by brothers Diego and Alberto. Their Etna Rosso is produced from 2ha of 150-year-old Nerello Mascalese vines growing at an altitude of 800-1,000m above sea level in the contrada of Guardiola. "The Etna Rosso is 100% Nerello Mascalese that sees six months in botte grande. In fact the wood element is absolutely neutral and the fruit has plenty of room to express itself. Dark berry fruit, dried cherry, spice and balsam herb are presented with sheer volume and brawn. The wine opens to a dark ruby colour and imparts luscious dark fruit to the senses. . It offers medium build with firm tannins and a streamlined finish. This is an impressive showing." Wine Advocate
