Raúl Pérez is an influential winemaker known for his work in various wine regions of Spain, particularly in Bierzo and Rías Baixas. He is considered one of the pioneers of the ‘new wave’ of Spanish winemaking and has gained international recognition for his innovative and high-quality wines. El Pecado is made from centenarian grapes from the very small Capeliños vineyard in Ribeira Sacra. The vineyard is on a slope at some 350 to 400 meters above sea level and is planted with a Mencía field blend, including small percentages of Casino, Alicante Bouschet, Bastardo and Brancellao.
