Founded in 1942 in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, Don Julio is one of the world’s leading premium Tequila brands. Over four decades, the founder Don Julio González developed a reputation for the superior quality of his Tequilas. At nearly 2,000m above sea level, Jalisco’s extreme climate and rich volcanic soil provided the perfect conditions for Don Julio to start what would become his pioneering Tequila distillery: La Primavera.
Using painstakingly cultivated and hand-harvested blue agave – the company’s jimadors harvest plant by plant, uniformly hand-cutting the agave leaves to ensure optimum quality – Don Julio produces a range of Tequilas which set the benchmark for this spirit – from classic Blanco, Reposado and Añejo styles through to special-edition such as 70 Cristalino (the world’s first clear Añejo), the solera-aged Ultima Reserva and the iconic 1942.
