D`Armailhac 2005 is a full-bodied, Cabernet Sauvignon-based red wine from the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux. Formerly known as Mouton d`Armailhac, Château d`Armailhac was designated as a Fifth Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification and is part of the broader portfolio of estates under Baron Philippe de Rothschild. Recent improvements in quality have elevated Château d`Armailhac`s status, and it is now considered one of the best-value wines in Pauillac. On the 2005. "Wild strawberries on the nose, this has high aromatics, gentle toast and cigar box, blond tobacco, undergrowth, the beginning of tertiary, extremely elegant, fine, and classic Armailhac at the time. Almost feels like we are in St Julien, and then the more powerful Pauillac tannins arrive. This is harmonious, with complexity and freshness, with the Cabernet Franc giving salinity on the finish.
