Corton DRC 2017

HED57548 75cl 13%
Located within the commune of Vosne-Romanée, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is the world-famous wine producer that needs no introduction. Since 1942, the estate is co-owned by two families, the de Villaine and the Leroy, with Alexandre Bernier in place as cellar master following the retirement of Bernard Noblet in 2018. The Corton Grand Cru is a recent addition to the domaine’s portfolio, produced from a 2.28-hectare vineyard leased to DRC by Prince Florent de Merode since November 2008. The 2017 vintage is a medium-bodied wine, slightly savoury, boasting a firm acidity and a tannic kick on the finish.

Domaine de la Romanee-Conti

Domaine de la Romanee-Conti

Words do not do justice to this legendary Burgundian producer. Situated in the commune of Vosne-Romanée, Domaine de la Romanée Conti (DRC) is considered by many to be the finest producer in the world. Co-owned by the Villaine and Leroy families, DRC produces only Grand Cru wines - some of the most sought after and ageworthy in Burgundy - from key grape varieties, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. These include six reds: Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, Romanée-St-Vivant, Échezeaux and Grands Échezeaux, and one white wine, Le Montrachet.

Run by co-directors Aubert de Villaine and Henri-Frédéric Roch for many years, the domaine is now entering a new chapter under new leadership. The domaine consists of 25 hectares of meticulously tended vineyards and includes some of the greatest terroirs in Burgundy.
