DRC Corton 2015 is a medium-bodied red wine from the Grand Cru climat of Corton in the Côte de Beaune. With a rich heritage that goes back to the 16th century, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti needs no introduction. The estate, which is co-owned by the Villaine and Leroy families, is the largest proprietor of Grand Cru vineyards in Vosne-Romanée. The domaine has always cultivated its vines according to the principles of organic farming and in 2017 obtained the Biodyvin biodynamic certification. "The very first DRC Corton vintage was in 2009, a ‘fermage’ arrangement to farm the three climat vineyards of Prince Florent de Merode. Biodynamically farmed, the wine is made from Le Clos du Roi, Les Renardes and Les Bressandes. The 45 year old vines were harvested on September 5th, yielding 22.3hl/ha. The domaine believes this to be its best Corton since the inaugural 2009. It`s a bright ruby colour with a nose of ripe but not jammy red fruits and a hint of oak. The palate is not overly dense, but carries a juicy, crystalline freshness, charming with its sweet cherry and raspberry fruit underpinned by finely woven tannins. Good length with a clean mineral finish." Decanter, 2018
