Corton Le Corton

Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France

Located in Aloxe-Corton at the northern end of the Côte de Beaune, Le Corton is a renowned Grand Cru vineyard predominatly dedicated to Pinot Noir. Le Corton is distinguished by being the only red Grand Cru in the Côte de Beaune region.

The Pinot Noir wines of this vineyard grow on the highest slopes of the Montagne de Corton, with a predominantly south east-facing exposition. The 11.6ha vineyard’s unusually high elevation dictates that the Pinot Noir grapes grown here ripen late and tend to produce elegant, ethereal, perfumed wines with structure enough to mature gracefully for two decades or more.

Bouchard is the biggest landowner in Le Corton, with 3.55ha. Other producers of note include Domaine Vincent Gerardin, Domaine Maurice Chapuis, and Lucien Le Moine.
