The Clynelish 29 Year Old Signatory 1965 offers a rare opportunity for collectors, being one of only 530 bottles released. Distilled at the original Clynelish distillery, now known as Brora, this whisky was matured for 29 years in sherry butt #667 and bottled in 1994. Clynelish was established in 1819, and today’s distillery operates next to the original, which has been closed since 1983. This limited release is significant for those with a keen interest in vintage Clynelish expressions. Matured in a single Sherry cask and bottled at 52.1% ABV.

Brora

Originally known as Clynelish, Brora was established in the early 1800s by the Duke of Sutherland. The distillery was popular with blenders to the point where a second site was required to meet demand (still in operational as Clynelish). The original distillery was closed in the late 1960s and reopened in the 1970s, producing a range of malts - from heavily peated to very lightly peated.

Having long been one of the most popular closed distilleries for collectors and drinkers, Brora is now being refurbished and reopened by the current owners Diageo. The first bottlings are expected in the mid to late 2020s - the whisky world waits with baited breath!
