Clos Fourtet is a Premier Grand Cru Classé estate in Saint-Émilion, a status that was reconfirmed in the 2022 classification. The 18.5-hectare vineyard is planted mostly to Merlot [85%], with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc on clay soils over limestone. The 1966 vintage is in excellent shape, elegant and smooth, with all tannins fully resolved. Expect an earthy character, with notes of light red fruit and acidity evocative of citrus.
