Domaine Dujac was acquired by Jacques Seysses in 1967 and has established itself as one of the very finest producers in Burgundy with an exceptional range of 7 Grand Cru wines. This is a hard-to-find mature Clos de la Roche that is now approaching its peak. 1996 was widely regarded an excellent vintage producing wines of wonderful concentration and balance.

Dujac’s 1996 Clos de La Roche is served last, but its pedigree comes through loud and clear in seemingly endless aromas and flavors that dazzle. Savory herbs, rose petal and soft, supple fruit cress the palate in this gorgeous Burgundy. The 1996 is just entering the early part of its maturity. It should drink well for another decade or two. This is a magnificent showing from the Seysses family. 96 - Antonio Galloni

Domaine Dujac

Domaine Dujac

Founded in the late 1960s by Jacques Seysses, who purchased and renovated Domaine Graillet in Morey-St-Denis. The estate is currently run by Jacques' sons Jeremy and Alec, who farm around 17 hectares of vines across the Côte including holdings in Echezeaux, Clos de la Roche, Charmes-Chambertin and Bonnes Mares.

A natural approach is taken in the vineyard and cellar with the estate moving from organic farming to fully biodynamic in the mid 2000s, receiving their certification in 2011. The team's focus is on elegance - temperatures are controlled to keep alcohol in check and also limit malolactic fermentation while juice from the crush is fed into the cellar by gravity only without the use of pumping. The wines of Domaine Dujac represent pure, balanced expressions of their respective terroirs.
