Fontodi Chianti Classico 2021 is a medium-bodied, barrel-aged Sangiovese red wine from the Chianti Classico DOCG of Tuscany. Certified organic in the vineyards and combining modern and traditional, low-intervention winemaking techniques in their modern, gravity-fed cellar, Fontodi has become a byword for consistent quality and terroir expression in Chianti Classico. Macerations are relatively long and maturation is done in fine Allier and Troncais barriques for 18 months. This is the basic recipe for Fontodi`s success with the Sangiovese grape variety. Expect a supple and finely structured red wine with a wash of sweet cherry and plum fruits, and hints of baked earth, tobacco and balsamic herbs.
