Terrabianca Campaccio Selezione Riserva 1990 is a full-bodied Supertuscan red blend from the Tuscany region of central Italy. A blend of 50% Sangiovese and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon from Chianti Classico and Maremma, this powerful yet polished red was matured for two years in French and American oak barrels and a further year in bottle prior to release. "The 1990 Campaccio Reserva is a must purchase for enthusiasts of great Tuscan proprietary red wines. It possesses a stunning nose of lead pencil aromas (a Mouton-Rothschild smell-alike), cassis, tobacco, vanillin, and cedar. The wine`s opaque purple colour suggests (and the flavours confirm it) great concentration. There are chocolatey, cassis flavours that ooze from the wine`s innards. Full, rich, and spectacularly well-balanced with adequate acidity and moderate tannin in the blockbuster finish, this is a monumental example of a Tuscan Sangiovese/Cabernet Sauvignon blend."
