A full-bodied yet elegant Napa Cabernet Sauvignon from the historic Beringer ranch in Knights Valley, California. Beringer Cabernet was first labelled as Knights Valley in 1974 and the vineyard area received its own American Viticultural Area designation nine years later, in 1983. "Although 1998 was considered a lighter vintage, I think our strategy of waiting to harvest worked well in the end... Ultimately, the 1998 Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon turned out to have nice rich colour, a wonderful nose of dark fruits with pretty oak and delicious, extracted red fruit flavours with black fruits in the background. The mouthfeel has a nice grip that helps the flavours linger into a long finish." Ed Sbragia, former Beringer winemaker
