Aldo Conterno Barolo Romirasco 2008 is a mature single-vineyard Barolo produced in the Piedmont region of northern Italy. Aldo Conterno is one of the great names of Barolo winemaking. The son of Giacomo Conterno, and so part of the now-revered Conterno winemaking dynasty, Aldo sought to make Barolos in a softer, more fruit-forward style than his father. Yet his Nebbiolos could still be described as classical, with ageing in traditional large-format oak botti and with a rare level of complexity that was only revealed after many years of ageing in bottle. The 2008 Romirasco is produced from old vines of Lampia clone Nebbiolo in the Romirasco vineyard in Bussia, Monteforte d`Alba. "Incredible aromas of crushed strawberries with blueberries and minerals with hints of porcini mushrooms. Intense and deep nose.
