Barbaresco Paje Roagna 2019 showcases the hallmark characteristics of the Barbaresco region. The vineyard, located at 350 metres above sea level, benefits from soils rich in clay and limestone, contributing to the wine’s structure and complexity. The vines, many over 50 years old, impart a sense of place and lineage. Roagna, a family-run estate with a commitment to traditional winemaking since the late 19th century, produces an average of 5,000 bottles per vintage, emphasising rarity and authenticity.
- The 2019 Barbaresco Pajè is a step up from the first Barbarescos in this range. Its depth is apparent even from the color. Deeply pitched spice notes meld into a core of dark-toned fruit. Leather, incense, licorice and scorched earth follow, adding layers of dimension. This fabulous edition of the Pajè is notable for its textural resonance and overall presence.
