Founded in 1821, Barbadillo is the largest producer in Sanlucar de Barrameda and is still family owned and operated. Produced from 100% Palomino from 30-year-old vineyards, the Amontillado Principe undergoes 8 years of biological ageing under flor followed by 6 years of oxidative ageing. Amber in colour, it has delicious scents of candied citrus, grilled nuts and woody spices. Typically dry and relatively full-bodied, the palate is wonderfully complex with notes of dried fruits and smoked nuts, concluding with a lingering, subtly saline finish.
