‘M. Ant. De La Riva` is the collaborative effort of Willy Pérez and Ramiro Ibáñez. The name harks back to Manuel Antonio De La Riva, a winery established in 1858 on Calle Arcos, Jerez. It was a small yet esteemed producer, later acquired by Pedro Domecq in the early 1970s. Over time, it faded into obscurity, and most of its wines were blended away. Willy and Ramiro acquired the rights to the brand name and breathed new life into it in 2017. The 2022 `Macharnudo San Cayetano Vino de Pasto` is an unfortified Palomino wine crafted from Sherry soils, originating from the renowned Macharnudo vineyard in Jerez. The grapes underwent a brief sun-drying process, resulting in a wine with reduced biological influence and a more prominent limestone character, even though it matured under a veil of flor yeast.
