The heavily peated malts produced by Edradour are named for a long lost local distillery - Ballachin. This special release was aged for a time in ex-Bordeaux wine casks, adding a hint of red fruit on the nose and palate. Elsewhere, the peat wins big with lashings of smoke taking centre stage across the flavour profile. A fantastic, oily malt with bags of personality.
