Averna Amaro is a classic Sicilian amaro – a bitter, aromatic liqueur – produced by Averna in Caltanissetta, Sicily, since 1868. The recipe for Averna Amaro was originally created by the Benedictine monks at the Abbazia di Santo Spirit0. The story goes that the recipe was offered as a sign of gratitude, by the monk Fra Girolamo to Salvatore Averna, the founder of the family company. Averna Amaro contains 33 different herbs and roots, with orange notes too the fore. Perfect chilled as a digestif.
