Alban Central Coast Viognier 2021 is a medium-bodied white wine from the Central Coast of California. Winemaker John Alban is acknowledged as a true pioneer in California, with Alban Vineyards the state`s first winery to dedicate itself exclusively to Rhône varieties. The Central Coast Viognier uses fruit from the first vineyard that Alban grafted to Viognier in 1986 along with a proportion of Edna Valley fruit. This cuvée is typically 25% barrel-fermented and 75% tank-fermented. This 2021 was matured mainly in stainless steel and amphorae. "Looking first at the 2021 Viognier Central Coast (which is released under the Central Coast label but nevertheless comes all from the estate in Edna Valley), it has a vivid gold hue as well as a great nose of crushed citrus, honeysuckle, and assorted white flower and acacia notes. Medium-bodied, seamless, and elegant, with just a kiss of background toast and brioche, it`s a terrific expression of the variety and well worth seeking out." Jeb Dunnuck, 2022
