A limited-edition rye whiskey produced by WhistlePig Distillery in Shoreham, Vermont. Released in 2021, the spirit is named after Lapu-Lapu, the Filipino warrior who defeated Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan in 1521. WhistlePig Boss Hog VIII is a blend of 10-year-old rye whiskey that was aged in American oak barrels and finished in high-toast, small-batch, single island Philippine rum casks. The whiskey has a complex flavour profile with notes of vanilla, caramel, tropical fruits, and spices.
