Domaine Bernard Moreau boasts a rich history dating back to 1809 when Auguste Moreau established a cellar near the Champs Gain vineyard and cultivated a few hectares on the hillside. Over time, the estate expanded its vineyard holdings significantly, primarily during the stewardship of Marcel Moreau starting from the 1930s. The 2020 Volnay Les Santenots Premier Cru displays a lovely blend of black cherry and blueberry aromas on the nose, with hints of wilted rose petals. On the palate, it presents a medium-bodied profile with crisp tannins at the beginning and a savoury quality throughout, eventually tightening towards the finish.
- The 2020 Volnay Les Santenots 1er Cru is a mixture of black cherry and blueberry fruit on the nose, gradually unfurling to reveal some lovely wilted rose petal scents. The palate is medium-bodied with crispy tannins on the entry, quite sapid in the mouth but it tightens towards the finish. It should open up by the time of bottling.
