Renowned firstly as a chef, Vitor Claro maintains a distinct vision of crafting artisanal, gastronomic wines characterized by authenticity and freshness. In 2010, he ventured to Portalegre – the highest and coolest part of the Alentejo region. Here, steeped in a rich heritage of old field blend varieties, Claro found inspiration. Historically, many of these grapes were blended in the local cooperative, contributing to a generic pool and diminishing terroir expression and quality. Yet, Claro has emerged as a trailblazer, championing single-vineyard wines and enhancing the overall quality of wines from this Alentejo sub-region through his Dominó label.
