GVB Vergelegen`s flagship red, is a classic Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot grown on the dry-land Rondekop vineyards. Plum, chocolate, graphite and cassis and cedar wood on the nose. On the palate the fruit, tannin and acidity marry perfectly to offer balance and complexity, supported by flavours of black cherry, black currants and refreshing minerals.
- The 2016 GVB Red has a clean and pure bouquet with black cherries, boysenberry and light violet aromas that blossom in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, edgy and slightly grainy in texture, fresh with a persistent finish that lingers. This has the upper hand over the 2015 and will give 15-20 years' drinking pleasure.
