Established in 1993 by Larry Turley in Napa Valley, Turley Wine Cellars emerged as a result of Turley`s desire for a smaller, more intimately scaled production. Ueberroth stands out as one of their oldest Zinfandel vineyards. Situated a few miles northwest of Pesenti, the vineyard hilltop provides a hint of Pacific Ocean air. These ungrafted, head-trained vines grow on steep limestone slopes, and the soil`s high pH contributes to a wine with elevated acidity, accentuating the ripe fruit flavours from this historically certified organic vineyard.
The 2021 Zinfandel Ueberroth Vineyard is plush, layered and exquisitely vivid. Graphite, blueberry jam, licorice, lavender, cloves and savory accents build into a crescendo of aromas, flavors and texture. The Ueberroth is a wine of tremendous complexity and nuance. Then again, this site planted in the 1880s often yields wines of tremendous character. Stunning. - Antonio Galloni
