Tomintoul was founded in 1964 and is named after the nearby village of Tomintoul, which is the highest village in the Scottish Highlands. It produces a range of single malt whiskies, including a popular 10-year-old expression, which is known for its smooth and gentle character. This limited-edition expression was matured for 17 years in American oak casks before being finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. It was bottled at a strength of 46% ABV and is non-chill filtered. The sherry cask finish imparted rich and fruity flavours of raisins, figs and dates, as well as notes of chocolate and spices.
