Togouchi is a Japanese blended whisky that is produced by the Chugoku Jozo distillery. Unlike most Japanese whiskies, which are aged in warehouses on the coast, Togouchi is aged in a tunnel that was originally constructed as a railway tunnel but was never used for trains. The 18-year-old expression is known for its complex and layered flavour profile. It has hints of honey, vanilla and caramel on the nose, with notes of oak, spice and dried fruit on the palate. The finish is long and warming, with just a hint of smoke.
