The Szepsy family has been producing Tokaj wines since the 1500s and 18th generation family member, Istvàn Szepsy, is widely regarded as one of the greatest winemakers in Hungary. This is a delicious dry white wine made from 100% local variety, Furmint, and is a blend of several different vineyard plots with élevage in 0-6-year-old oak barrels. It is a beautifully crafted wine, redolent of quince, pear, blanched almond, citrus peel and crushed stones. Elegant, refined and mineral, this would be superb alongside fresh seafood.
