Stellenbosch Farmers Winery Paarl Claret 1974 is a fully mature red wine produced from 100% Cinsault grapes in Paarl region of South Africa`s Western Cape. This rare bottling was released to celebrate the launch of the South African Wine of Origin Scheme on 1 September 1973. "It has a brilliant pale red colour, very typical of older Cinsauts, and a soft onion skin colour. The freshness of the wine on the nose is very charming, followed by a sweetness that comes from the variety, and a gentle strawberry compote aroma. The palate is soft with some fruit lingering, smooth with a touch of the strawberry. The freshness is still apparent on the palate with a touch of juiciness and a clean aftertaste.
