Cinsault

A red grape variety (also spelled Cinsaut) that produces wines with characteristic red cherry fruit, perfume and suppleness. In the Languedoc and Provence in Southern France, Cinsault is a key varietal in both red wine and rosé production, for example in the beautiful rosé blends of Château Miraval and Clos Sainte Magdelaine.  South Africa is arguably home to some of the finest single varietal examples of Cinsault with A A Badenhorst creating beautiful single vineyard examples in Swartland.
