Sperino Lessona 2018 is a full-bodied red wine from the Alto Piemonte region in northern Italy, crafted predominantly from Nebbiolo grapes. This vintage reflects the unique marine soils of the Lessona DOC, resulting in a wine characterised by softer tannins compared to its Langhe counterparts. The wine was fermented in large open-top oak casks. With 18 months on its lees before being transferred to smaller 1,500L barrels where it stayed for 35 months before bottling in September 2021. The estate is owned by Paolo di Marchi, renowned for his contributions to Isole e Olena. This wine is a study in structure and length.
