The 100-acre Napa Valley estate of Signorello was established in 1977 and ever since this family-run outfit has quietly garnered a reputation for producing exceptional quality Bordeaux-inspired Cabernet Sauvignon based blends. Padrone was created in honour of founder, Ray Signorello Sr, and is produced using fruit from their best vineyard blocks. The 2014 is composed of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc, and bounds from the glass with sumptuous aromas of cassis, blackberry, liquorice and vanilla. It is full-bodied and rich but has a tightly woven structure which will allow graceful ageing over the next decade.
