Schubert Marion`s Vineyard Pinot Noir 2020 is a single-vineyard Pinot Noir red wine from Wairarapa, New Zealand. Marion’s Vineyard in Wairarapa is planted with the Pommard and the Abel clones of Pinot Noir. The grapes for this cuvée are 100% de-stemmed, cold-macerated and fermented in stainless steel vats. Left on skins for 3 weeks. The wine is aged in 35% new French oak barriques for 18 months. Silky in texture with luscious flavours of ripe red fruits, forest floor and dark chocolate.

- The 2020 Pinot Noir Marion's Vineyard is a silky little number that shows a deft hand. The ripe sweet plum and raspberry-scented fruit is approachable but its attractive, savory, sinewy tannins draw the wine out. Subtle mocha characters join the plummy fruit, which indicates that this has enjoyed a lengthy period on skins, extracting those finely textured tannins as well as being allowed to take its time in oak barrel to mature slowly and classically. A harmonious and satisfying Pinot Noir. If you know anyone called Marion, buy them a bottle of this. It will be well received.
