Márques de Cáceres Rioja Gaudium 2016 is a full-bodied red wine produced from 100% Tempranillo grapes in the Rioja region of Spain. The Gaudium cuvée is produced from low-yielding old Tempranillo vines – some of them pre-phylloxera in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. The wine spends 18-24 months maturing in fine-grained French oak barrels. The 2016 incudes 5% Graciano in the final blend. "Concentrated, self-assured, and built to develop in bottle along lines that owe as much to Bordeaux as to Rioja, this has intense flavours of cassis, blackberry, and mint, spicy, scented oak, sculpted tannins, and a persistent finish."
