Weingut Reinhold Haart lies mere metres away from the banks of the river Mosel, behind which the Piesporter Goldtröpfchen vineyard begins it steep ascent up the hill. The wines from this Devonian slate vineyard often have compact structure and develop very slowly, with signature notes of peach, blackcurrant and tropical fruits. The 2015 is full-bodied, textural and highly complex, suggesting this will require a few more years cellaring before it is approachable.
