Ravenswood Winery began in 1976 with pioneering winemaker Joel Peterson at the helm and has forged a reputation as one of the finest producers of Zinfandel in California. The 1997 Cooke Vineyard Zinfandel exudes notes of rich black fruits, dried herbs, spices and leather. It is decadent and lush but kept in check with a keen thread of raspberry acidity.
