Xavier Monnot is a Meursault-based winemaker who comes from a long line of Burgundian vignerons. In 2005 Xavier started producing wines under his own label and his estate today covers approximately 17 hectares. This release comes from a 0.85-hectare plot in ‘Les Folatières’, a prestigious Premier Cru vineyard in the Puligny-Montrachet appellation. Xavier`s approach leans towards allowing the grapes to reach maturity without harvesting too early, striking a balance that prevents the wines from becoming overly lush while maintaining a certain tension.
