HED23533 75cl 13%
Formed in 2003, Domaine Alain Chavy covers approximately 6.5 hectares, including key parcels in Premier Cru vineyards. This village-level Puligny-Montrachet comes from the lieu-dit ‘Les Charmes’, a stone’s throw from Meursault’s better-known Premier Cru of the same name. The 2021 is ready to be enjoyed now but would benefit from a longer cellaring.

Domaine Alain Chavy

The Chavy family has been a fixture in Puligny-Montrachet for more than two centuries. The son of Gérard Chavy, Alain established his own domaine in 2003, when his family’s vineyards were split between him and his brother, Jean-Louis.

Domaine Alain Chavy comprises about 10ha of vineyards in and around Puligny. In addition to several well-located village parcels, Alain owns plots in the prestigious Premiers Crus of Les Folatières, Les Champs Gain, Les Pucelles and Les Clavoillons. These are complemented by several small holdings in neighbouring Chassagne-Montrachet and Meursault.

At six metres deep Alain’s underground cellar is the deepest in the village, ensuring a cool environment in which his wines can ferment and mature very gradually. Alain practises low-intervention winemaking, with minimal bâttonage and sparing use of new oak allowing Puligny’s prized terroir to shine through in his famously elegant, mineral-driven Chardonnays.
