Vines were originally planted on the Summit Ranch estate back in the 1950s, but it was not until 1991 that Jim and Carolyn Pride switched from selling their grapes to producing their own label wines. This is a wonderful example of mature Californian Cabernet with its delicious notes of crème de cassis, mulberry, tobacco, liquorice and tapenade. Rich and full-bodied, but perfectly harmonious, this would be excellent with any meats cooked over open flames.
