Petrus is often considered the pinnacle of the Pomerol appellation and is undoubtedly one of the most revered wines in the world. The style of Petrus is unique and in the best vintages it often achieves levels of aromatic complexity, richness and silky texture that others simply cannot. It is an exceptionally long-lived wine and can often require significant cellaring before reaching maturity and expressing its true essence.
Once again the 2000 vintage offers a remarkable expression of Pomerol. It is incredibly concentrated and opulent in texture yet exhibits impeccable balance and admirable freshness. Now only just entering its prime drinking phase, this can certainly be expected to continue to evolve over the next few decades.
