Bodega Pago de Carraovejas Cuesta de Las Liebres 2018 is a full-bodied Tempranillo red wine produced in the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. Located on a steep slope close to the Duero River, Bodega Pago de Carraovejas is one of the oldest family-owned wineries in the Ribera region. Cuesta de Las Liebres is produced from organically farmed Tempranillo grapes growing on a steep slope of clay-limestone. Precision sorting of the grapes using an optical sorter is followed by gravity transfer of the grapes to oak foudres for spontaneous fermentation. The wine is then transferred to new 225l oak barrels to mature for 24 months. The wine then spends a further 24 months in bottle before release. Undoubtedly one of the finest reds in the Ribera region, increasingly seen as on the same footing as Vega Sicilia or Pingus.
