Based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Henri Gouge is a family-owned domaine established in the 1920s. Henri Gouges [1889-1967] was something of a pioneer, the first Burgundian to bottle his own wine to guarantee provenance and quality. This release is produced from 100% Pinot Blanc, also known as called ‘Pinot Gouges’, having been first discovered on the estate by Henri Gouges himself. A must-try.
The 2021 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Perrières Blanc 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with freshly-sliced pear, frangipane, sea spray and orange rind scents. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, fresh with peach skin and dried mango on the finish.
