Domaine de l’Arlot is a distinguished wine producer that can trace its roots back to the 18th century. Owned by the AXA Millésimes group since 1987, the estate owns vines in several prestigious vineyards including in two Premier Cru monopole vineyards, Clos de Forets Saint-Georges and the 2-hectare Clos de l`Arlot, where this cuvée comes from. The 2021 vintage delivers aromas of citrus fruits, apricot, and hints of pineapple. On the palate, the wine is very silky, with a beautiful balance between minerality, fruitiness, and floral undertones.
The 2021 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos de l`Arlot Blanc 1er Cru, matured in 20% new oak, was taken from tank on the lees, due to be racked right after my visit. This is perfumed and seductive. wild peach with orange blossom and light blackcurrant leaf aromas, quite Meursault-like. The palate is well balanced with a fine citrus edge. orange pith and fresh pear, a touch of stem ginger, composed and harmonious on the finish.
