Montes was founded in 1987 by Aurelio Montes and Douglas Murray, who both had a vision to elevate the quality of Chilean wines on the international stage. ‘Taita’ is one of their ultra-premium red wines, representing the pinnacle of Montes` winemaking. The 2017 vintage is predominantly made from Cabernet Sauvignon, with a small proportion of other grape varieties blended in to add complexity and depth. The grapes are carefully selected from a single vineyard located in the Marchigüe zone, in the Colchagua Valley. This area is known for its exceptional terroir, with rocky, well-drained soils that provide ideal conditions for growing high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon.
