Here is the first wine from Château Monlot, a 400 year-old estate located near the small medieval town of Saint-Émilion. The 2015 vintage is a blend of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Franc. Deep red in colour, the nose has a beautiful aromatic intensity. Notes of ripe fruit such as blueberry, blackberry and light floral touches. On the palate, a lot of freshness, together with black fruit aromas. A complex and well-balanced wine. The tannins are round, with a nice acidity, concluding on a long and evolving finish.
The 2015 Monlot is a gorgeous, deep Saint-Émilion endowed with striking texture and richness. A host of deeply spiced, mentholated notes meld into a core of dark red and black fruits as this fleshy, succulent Saint-Émilion shows off its inviting personality. Deep, layered and wonderfully vivid in the glass, the 2015 offers lovely intensity in a forward, fruit-driven style. Today, it is the wine`s balance and sheer appeal I find most attractive of all. - Antonio Galloni - The 2015 Monlot is a gorgeous, deep Saint-Émilion endowed with striking texture and richness.
